Grapes sourced from Heathcote a reputable wine region for high quality Shiraz. The region is renowned for its famous ancient red Cambrian soils the rich calcareous sodic clay , the climate here is influenced by the Mt Carmel Range, which provides a natural tunnel for prevailing south to south-east winds that blow throughout the growing season. Heathcote's climate and soil produces world-class Shiraz with a unique character.

Grapes de-stemmed and crushed into small open fermenters after sorting, wines go through lower temperature fermentation to retain elegant aromas and moderate tannin. Matured in a mixture of new (30%) and used French oak barrels for 12 months around. Lightly filtered (no fining) prior to bottling.

A wine made for cellar. It has shown its excellent character and will develop more complex with further bottle age, cellar up to 20 years.

Makes a wonderful accompaniment to roast lamb, grilled steaks, ribs and strong-flavored dishes, its high natural acidity perfectly cut through the richness of the food and cleaning up the palate.
